Sejong The Great Gwa Chojeongyaksu Festival

This festival commemorates the historical fact that King Sejong stayed at Chojeong Palace for 120 days, using the mineral water of Chojeong to treat his diabetes and eye disease while continuing his state affairs and achieving great feats such as the creation of Hangeul. It aims to shed new light on the value of King Sejong and Chojeong mineral water, and to spread awareness of the historical and scientific excellence of Chojeong water, one of the world's three rare types of carbonated mineral springs. Through this, organizers hope to promote the value of Cheongju's clean natural environment and health resources both at home and abroad, laying the groundwork for the festival to grow into a world-class cultural tourism event. Building on 20 years of festival history, it aims to establish itself as Cheongju's signature brand festival.
