This is Korea's only festival dedicated to Hangeul, the Korean alphabet, held every year in Sejong City to celebrate Hangeul Day. It began in 2013 to honor King Sejong's achievement in creating Hangeul, and in 2025 it was renamed from "Sejong Festival" to "Sejong Hangeul Festival." Through performances, exhibitions, and hands-on programs that reimagine the beauty and creativity of Hangeul in a modern way, the festival is designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages and nationalities. Blending tradition and modern culture, it has grown into a signature tourism festival where visitors can easily and enjoyably experience the charm of Hangeul and King Sejong's spirit right in the heart of the city.
