About
The Wonju Yongsugol Autumn Flower Festival is a resident-led festival held around Yongsugol in Seogok-ri, Panbu-myeon, Wonju, Gangwon State. The 5th edition in 2026 will run for 13 days, from September 23 to October 5. The festival grounds feature flower fields that villagers plant and tend themselves, offering a variety of seasonal autumn blooms. The main flowers include zinnias, sunflowers, cosmos, yellow cosmos (bidens), verbena bonariensis, globe amaranth, and asters, arranged in different sections by type and color. Programs mainly focus on viewing the flower fields and taking photos, and there will also be food stalls and a local specialty market run by residents. Yongsugol is also known for its spring Poppy Flower Festival, and this autumn event continues the flower theme through the fall season. From planting and running the festival to managing the grounds, it's entirely resident-led, using the area's natural scenery and rural landscape as tourism content. With poppies in spring and various autumn flowers in fall, it's one of Yongsugol's signature seasonal flower festivals.
