The 2026 Jikji Culture Festival aims to bring wider public attention to 'Jikji', the UNESCO Memory of the World document, and shed new light on its meaning as a symbol of innovation in printing technology and knowledge sharing. Under the theme 'Jikji, Opening the Door of Time,' the festival marks September 4, the date Jikji was inscribed as a Memory of the World, and is designed to let both locals and tourists connect with its historical and cultural significance together. Through exhibitions, hands-on activities, performances, and lectures that anyone can watch, enjoy, and linger in, the festival makes Jikji easier and more interesting to encounter, letting visitors experience the living value of recorded culture across time.
