About
Ginseng is one of Korea's classic health foods, known for restoring energy and boosting immunity. Every October, when ginseng is at its most nutrient-rich, the Punggi Ginseng Festival takes place in Yeongju, one of Korea's top ginseng-growing regions. Since the festival celebrates ginseng as a symbol of health, it's built around health-themed exhibits and hands-on activities. Visitors can taste dishes made with nutrient-packed Punggi ginseng and try fun experiences like ginseng peeling, making ginseng liquor, or a 'find the golden ginseng' game. Local ginseng farmers also sell fresh and red ginseng, along with ginseng-based products, at affordable prices.
