About
Pohang, known as the 'City of Fire and Light,' holds its signature cultural tourism festival, the Pohang International Fireworks Festival, every year. It began in 2004 as a fireworks show celebrating Pohang Citizens' Day, themed around 'light' representing the world-class steel city and 'fire' representing its blazing furnaces. Since then it has grown into an international event, with famous fireworks teams from around the world joining every year. The festival has also moved beyond fireworks alone, now blending industry and culture through elaborate performances and a light parade, making it a true festival of unity.
