Gochang Moyangseong Fortress Festival

The Gochang Moyangseong Fortress Festival is a history and culture festival themed around Moyangseong Fortress, the best-preserved fortress of its kind in Korea. Its signature program is Dapseong Nori, a fortress-walking game based on a legend: walk around once and leg ailments heal, walk twice and you'll enjoy a long healthy life, and walk three times and you'll ascend to paradise — all turned into a hands-on experience. Other highlights include a nighttime event mixing Dapseong Nori with the traditional Ganggangsullae circle dance under the moonlight, a street parade with around 1,000 local residents representing past, present, and future, and "Returns 1453," a journey-back-in-time program you can enjoy while wandering inside Gochang Eupseong walled town. There's also local food made from Gochang's specialty products and a direct farmers' market.
