The Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival reimagines King Jeongjo's famous 8-day royal procession to Hwaseong in 1795 with a modern touch. Moments recorded in the historic "Records of the Royal Visit to Hwaseong in the Eulmyo Year" come alive again through performances, parades, hands-on activities, and citizen participation programs, all held around the UNESCO World Heritage site Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. The festival's signature event, the "King Jeongjo Royal Procession," is Korea's largest royal parade, enjoyed together by locals and visitors and showing off the festival's grandest side. During the day you can join traditional culture experiences and hands-on programs, while at night high-quality performances set against the beautiful scenery of Hwaseong Fortress offer a truly special experience for visitors from Korea and abroad.
