The Wanju Wild & Local Food Festival is Wanju County's signature festival, held amid the area's unspoiled nature. It's a festival for all ages, combining wild, offbeat outdoor experiences you won't find in everyday life with the fresh local food that Wanju, Korea's top local-food region, is known for. The 2026 festival runs under the slogan "Blazing Wild Fire," featuring roaring open-fire cooking, local bushcraft, potato samgut (steam-pit potatoes), and large-scale fire-themed events as its main programs. Visitors can also enjoy water play on the Siryangcheon stream, a rice-straw slide and other nature-based wild playgrounds, a local table set by chefs from women's associations of the county's 13 townships, a direct farm-produce market, and the Wapoo EDM music party—all adding up to a mix of autumn atmosphere, nostalgia, escape, and healing.
