Gamaksan Flower Star Travel Festival

The 6th Gamaksan Flower Star Trip runs from September 18 to October 11, 2026, at Byeolbaram Hill on top of Mount Gamaksan in Sinwon-myeon, Geochang-gun — one of the region's signature autumn festivals. This year's theme is "A Purple Comma for Myself," pairing the autumn scenery and Gamaksan's natural landscape with performances, activities, and food. The festival officially opens on September 18 with a pre-show, an opening performance, and a walk through the wild chrysanthemum fields. Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy busking performances, a sunset hill concert, a celebratory show by the Geochang Music Association, and a magic show for kids, among other stage acts. There's plenty to do too: photo zones set up around the venue, a stamp tour, and an SNS check-in event let visitors collect small souvenirs. Byeolbaram Hill also has a "slow mailbox" where you can write a letter and receive it before next year's festival — one of many charming touches. Food is another big draw. The Flower Star Market brings together local farms and businesses selling Geochang specialties and processed goods. The food market run by the women's associations of Namsang-myeon and Sinwon-myeon offers hearty dishes like bibimbap, guksu soup, savory pancakes, and tofu kimchi at affordable prices, while the food truck zone serves easy bites like coffee, sikhye (sweet rice drink), and hot dogs. For this year's 6th Gamaksan Flower Star Trip, visitors without a car can take the shuttle bus, and those driving are advised to check the official website and reserve a parking spot in advance.
