Held every year since 2021 against the backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage site Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, Suwon Hwaseong Media Art wraps up its 2021–2025 season, "Mancheonmyeongwol: The Dream of King Jeongjo, Becoming Light," and returns in 2026 with a new theme, "Saebitdongnak: Suwon Hwaseong Blooms with Light" — a night at Hwaseong Fortress where [Saebit] welcomes guests and [Dongnak] means enjoying it together. This nighttime festival uses large-scale media art to tell the story of the people connected to Hwaseong Fortress, from its construction to today, through vivid light. Around Hwaseomun Gate, huge media art installations combine light, video, and live performance, while Jangan Park offers a variety of interactive, responsive media art. Over 18 days, visitors can enjoy a rich lineup of sights and activities.
