Gimhae Bun Cheongdo Jagi Festival

About

Gimhae is the birthplace of buncheong ware from the early Joseon period, and the Gimhae Buncheong Ceramics Festival is the city's signature pottery festival, blending tradition with contemporary art. Now in its 30th edition, the festival runs under the theme "The Time of Buncheong, Meeting Sejong," with a range of programs letting visitors experience the artistry and practicality of Gimhae buncheong ware firsthand. Highlights include exhibitions by master potters, hands-on pottery-making and traditional kiln experiences, and creative exhibits blending modern ceramic art — all designed as a hands-on festival where visitors can see, feel, and take part. With programs for children and families, it's a festival everyone, young and old, can enjoy together. As a meaningful cultural event sharing the beauty and spirit of Gimhae's buncheong ware with the world, it works to preserve ceramic traditions while opening new possibilities for contemporary ceramic art.
