Silla Cultural Festival
신라문화제
About
The Silla Cultural Festival began in 1962 and celebrates its 53rd edition this year. Highlights include the Hwabaek Festival, which recreates the glory of the Silla dynasty against the backdrop of Woljeonggyo Bridge, plus a lively street arts festival featuring many performers, and the Silk Road Festa. At the Hwarang Hip-hop Festa, top Korean hip-hop artists perform against a backdrop of ancient royal tombs — a scene you can only see in Gyeongju. There's also Dalbit Nanjang, a romantic night market where local Gyeongju merchants show off the city's food. As the signature festival of Gyeongju, the thousand-year-old capital, the Silla Cultural Festival brings history and art together in one special experience.
