About
The Pohang Chimaek Festival is a summer festival held around the Yeongildae Pavilion over the water, one of Pohang's best-known spots. It runs for two days, August 21–22, 2026, with an opening ceremony, invited performances, stages for local residents, an EDM party, a singing contest, and hands-on programs. The grounds center on chicken and beer stalls, with a water zone, an art zone, and an event zone alongside them, tying together food, live music, activities, and the seaside setting. Visitors can also join in directly through Chimaek Star K, the Chimaek King contest, and a receipt lucky draw. Night performances and EDM sets are meant to bring more people to Yeongildae after dark, and the whole event is run to boost the local economy and grow Pohang's summer tourism.
