Baekje Cultural Festival
백제문화제
About
Starting from the first Baekje Grand Festival held in Buyeo County in 1955, the Baekje Cultural Festival has grown into one of Korea's leading historical and cultural festivals, now celebrating its 72nd edition. The festival has long worked to spread awareness of Baekje's brilliant culture and long history, carry forward the spirit and heritage of ancestors in a modern way, and strengthen local identity and pride. The 72nd Baekje Cultural Festival runs for 9 days, from Saturday, October 3 to Sunday, October 11, 2026, under the theme "Beautiful Baekje, Shining Sabi," taking place throughout the town of Buyeo. Centered around sites like Jeongnimsa Temple Site, Seoktap-ro, and the Gwanbuk-ri Historic Site, it features around 40 programs across 7 categories, including ancestral rites and Buddhist ceremonies, historical culture parades, performances, exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and nighttime scenery. This year's festival is especially notable for being held throughout the town of Buyeo itself, blending Baekje's history and culture with local businesses and residents' daily life into an open festival, offering visitors a special cultural experience where past and present coexist.
