About
Geumsan, in South Chungcheong Province, is the birthplace of Korean ginseng with over 1,500 years of history, and it's here that the Geumsan World Ginseng Festival takes place. Visitors of all ages can dig their own ginseng, get a red ginseng facial pack or foot bath, browse the International Ginseng Trade Fair, try traditional ginseng culture programs, and shop for good deals — plus taste healthy dishes made with ginseng and medicinal herbs at food stalls around the festival grounds. Held every year since 1981, the festival has been named one of Korea's Top 10 Festivals by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ten times, and in 2024 it was selected as an Asian specialty festival by the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA World) — cementing its reputation as one of Korea's leading industry-themed festivals as it continues to grow into a truly global event.
